If you knew your status the soonest, you could either start protecting yourself by practicing safer sex behaviours, or you could start your treatment right away.


There are many sexual practices that ensure satisfaction and safety of both partners from possible HIV infection. These practices benefit both partners as they are made to find ways to add more variety to sexual pleasure, increasing intimacy and trust, and improve both verbal and nonverbal communication.


Condoms, when used correctly and consistently, are highly effective in preventing HIV and other sexually transmitted infections.
